Erika S. Rosenhagen, Principal

Erika focuses her practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, tax planning, business succession planning, and providing general legal counsel to closely-held businesses. As part of the Trusts & Estates team at Morrison Sund PLLC, she works closely with individuals and families to help clients structure their estate plans to meet all of their objectives in the most tax efficient manner possible.

Erika assists her clients in designing plans for their circumstances with familiar estate planning documents such as wills, revocable trusts (living trusts), financial powers of attorney, health care directives (living wills), as well as more sophisticated documents when circumstances dictate such as trusts for children or grandchildren (including Special Needs and Supplemental Needs Trusts), irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILITs), grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), qualified personal residence trusts (QPRTs), intentionally defective grantor trusts, installment sales, charitable remainder trusts (CRTs), charitable lead trusts (CLTs), cabin trusts, family limited partnerships, family foundations, limited liability companies, corporations (including not-for-profit corporations), and buy-sell agreements.  Erika joined Morrison Sund in 2012, having begun her legal career as an attorney in the business department of Rackemann, Sawyer, and Brewster PC in Boston, MA.

Erika is an alumna of Wellesley College and Northeastern University School of Law. Erika is a member of the Minnesota Bar and an inactive member of the Massachusetts Bar. She serves on several local boards including the Minnesota Chapter of the Positive Coaching Alliance, the Wellesley Club of Minnesota, and a committee of the board of the Children’s Theatre Company. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, Hennepin County Bar Association, and Minnesota Women Lawyers. Erika has been a guest contributor to the estate planning blog Epilawg and has contributed to publications including Attorney at Law magazine.

A Minnetonka native, Erika is happy to be back in the area after her years in Boston. In her free time, she loves to travel, ski, swim, golf, run, go indoor skydiving, and occasionally relax with her husband, two sons, black Labrador retriever, and two cats.
