Thomas A. Judd, Attorney

Tom has over 40 years of experience serving medium-sized, closely-held and family-owned businesses.  Tom has focused his practice on advising clients on ownership structure, entity formation, capitalization, business transactions, mergers and acquisitions and ownership succession and transition.  Tom takes pride in having served business owners through the spectrum of their business existence - from formation, achieving success and maturity, through various challenges, expansion/acquisition and, ultimately, sale.

Prior to joining Morrison Sund in 2014, Tom practiced with larger law firms in Minneapolis (Fredrikson & Byron and Moss & Barnett).

Tom graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance from Purdue University in 1968, and received his JD from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1973.  Tom has been recognized as a Minnesota Super Lawyer.  Tom currently serves on the Board of Directors of Arc Minnesota and serves on various committees of Arc US, organizations that support, advocate for and serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.  Tom also serves on the Board of Directors of the Fred Wells Tennis & Education Center and on the Board of Trustees of the Excelsior United Methodist Church.

Tom enjoys spending time with his family and enjoys tennis, golf, exercise, boating and reading.
